Privacy Policy

Sudoku by Ibexo (app) · Last updated: 2026-09-04 · This is the policy for the app. The website has its own.

In short

Sudoku by Ibexo is a calm Sudoku without an account, without ads, without tracking and without analytics. The app does not send any data to us. We do not run a server for the app.

Everything the app stores stays on your device: your settings, the current game, the state of the trial and your purchase status. If you delete the app, this data is gone.

Purchases are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play. Apple or Google processes your payment data, not we.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing in the Sudoku by Ibexo app is:

For any privacy question, reach us by e-mail at the address above.

2. Scope

This privacy policy applies to the Sudoku by Ibexo app on iOS and Android and to the web preview of the app. Our website has its own privacy policy.

It does not cover the app stores and operating systems of Apple and Google. Their own privacy policies apply there.

3. What the app stores

The app stores the following only locally on your device:

This data contains no name, no e-mail address and no device identifier. It never leaves your device and is not combined with other data. We have no access to it.

If you back up your device (iCloud Backup, Google Backup), that backup may include this data. Apple's or Google's terms apply to the backup; we have no access to it either.

The app uses no cookies, no analytics or tracking services, no ad networks and no push notifications. There is no user account and no registration.

4. Purchases through the App Store and Google Play

The free trial needs no payment method. It runs without any data being sent to us.

If you buy the full version (subscription or one-time purchase), the purchase is handled by the Apple App Store or by Google Play. Apple or Google processes your account and payment data as an independent controller. We receive no payment data, no name and no e-mail address.

The app only asks the store whether a valid purchase exists for your store account (purchase status, product, period). This information is stored on the device. The same applies to "Restore purchase".

Free codes for friends and family are redeemed in the store as Apple Offer Codes or Google Play promo codes. Here too we only see the purchase status, not who redeemed the code.

How Apple and Google process data is described in their privacy policies:

5. Purchase handling with RevenueCat

To verify and manage purchases we use the service RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc., USA). A randomly generated, anonymous app user ID and the store purchase receipts are transmitted to and stored by RevenueCat. No names, e-mail addresses or payment data are transmitted.

This transfer serves the performance of the contract (unlocking the full version, restoring purchases) and our legitimate interest in reliable purchase verification. Transfers to the USA rely on standard contractual clauses or the Data Privacy Framework.

6. Data collected by the operating system

Depending on your device settings, Apple or Google may collect technical information about the app, such as crash reports or usage statistics, which may be available to us in aggregated, anonymous form. You control this in your device settings. We do not build any collection of such data into the app.

7. Legal basis

We comply with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP). Where the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, processing related to purchases is based on the performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Purely local storage on your device is necessary for the app to work and is based on your and our legitimate interest in a functioning app (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

8. Retention

Local data stays on your device until you delete it. The current game is replaced when you finish it or start a new one. All app data is deleted when you uninstall the app. We ourselves store no data about you.

9. Your rights

Under the FADP and the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Since we store no data about you, we cannot provide information about you or delete data relating to you. You delete your locally stored data by uninstalling the app.

For data that Apple or Google processes in connection with your purchase, please contact the respective provider.

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection authority. In Switzerland this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC). In the EU, the authority of your country of residence is competent.

10. Children

Sudoku by Ibexo is not designed for children and is intended for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Since the app sends no data to us, this applies to all users alike.

11. Data security

Because no data is transmitted, there is no transmission path that would need securing. Locally stored data is protected by the safeguards of your device (device lock, operating system encryption).

12. Changes

We update this privacy policy when the app or the legal requirements change. The current version is available in the app under "About" and online at https://ibexo.games/sudoku/app-privacy/. The date at the top shows the version.
